Product Owner Responsibilities
Let's talk more specifically about the responsibilities of the product owner at all stages of the project:

Participation in PI planning and preparation for it:

As a member of the extended product management team, the Product Owner participates in the development of the backlog (a list of tasks by priority) and the software increment. He also makes adjustments to the list of key stages of the team's activities, the roadmap, and the presentation presented at the planning meeting, if necessary.

At this meeting, the Product Owner and his team discuss user stories, i.e. the features of the program or software that would like to be added. Based on them, the Product Owner distributes tasks for the sprint. The team also participates in determining the nearest intermediate result to achieve or increment.

Direct implementation of sprint tasks:

The Product Owner is responsible for monitoring the team's backlog. Together with the system engineer or architect, he formulates tasks, structures them and adjusts them if necessary. Based on the time resource, end-user values ​​and other variables, including the state of the team, its resource, etc., the Product Owner assigns a level of importance to all backlog items (including user stories, defects and enablers) declared during the iteration design.

Sprint planning. The product owner reviews the key tasks once again and correlates them with the decisions of the other team leaders. At the planning meeting, he details the user stories and priorities. At this stage, he also needs to approve the work plan for the next sprint with his group.

Control of user story development. This is the activity for all backlog items. It can be carried out by any team member at the iteration planning stage or directly during it. The product owner ensures that the development of backlog items and readiness criteria is carried out efficiently and on time.

Using the BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) methodology. Together with his team, the Product Owner analyzes user stories and readiness criteria in the format of acceptance tests.

Acceptance of stories. Under the guidance of the product owner, the team approves an interim version of the work. Developers check whether there are ongoing acceptance tests and whether the completion of the story meets the criteria for readiness. The Product Owner monitors the compliance with the quality of the product, which is assessed by the feasibility of use.

Interaction with the system engineer (architect). The Product Owner does not fully understand all technical issues, but he must have basic knowledge to estimate the amount/volume of activity, distribute tasks in the Enabler, consult and help with the priority arrangement of technological infrastructures responsible for the launch of functionality. A reasonable distribution of work tasks helps to do this.

The Product Owner is required to attend product demos and retrospective meetings. The purpose of the meetings after each sprint is for the team to discuss their achievements and challenges, and to participate in an Inspect and Adapt session and an Agile Release Train (ART).
