How to make your own Facebook and Instagram reel

Post by mostakimvip06 »

What are reels and where to post them?
Reels are dynamic, short videos that we can create, edit, and then publish on Instagram and Facebook. This feature was introduced in 2020 by Instagram and then expanded to include Facebook. It was a response to the popularity of TikTok, an increasingly dynamic platform based on short video forms.

Internet users love attractive, attention-grabbing videos, so reels will certainly continue to be an enduring trend throughout 2024. They are so popular because of their concise and maximally engaging format. In today's busy world, consuming fast-paced, dynamic content is possible for almost anyone, and much easier than reading longer forms of expression. In addition, Facebook and Instagram algorithms promote reels, eagerly suggesting this content format to new users outside of our audience base. In the guide prepared by Instagram, we can read: "If your account is public, reels lasting less than 90 seconds may be recommended and viewed by more people on Instagram."

Where are Instagram Reels and Facebook Reels displayed?
We can find Meta social media reels in many places.

They are displayed in the news feed among other posts from our friends or followed profiles and are played automatically.
On Instagram, we see reels in the feed on the author's profile, but in addition to that, every user who has added at least one publication in this format has a separate tab with reels on their account. This is how it looks on our account:

In addition, Instagram and Facebook offer a separate tab dedicated to video content. On Instagram, it is the "Reels" tab, where we can jump between videos in an intuitive way, scrolling them vertically. It looks similar on Facebook - there we can also select a dedicated tab and browse the recordings in the same way or see them in a grid, as below:

Both apps suggest reels as a search result based on hashtags or keywords. For example, when you type “waffle recipe” into Facebook’s search engine, the first suggested result is a reels instruction.
On Instagram, we also see reels in the "Explore" tab, where the application's algorithm cambodia telemarketing data suggests materials that may be of interest to us.
How to make your own Instagram reel?
Instagram has met its users halfway and allows you to create reels directly in the app . In the Instagram camera, you can record and edit video, and also enhance the reel with special effects and music, choosing it from a large library of free sounds.

To easily assemble a reel on your phone in the Instagram app, you need to:

Select the creation mode, the same as if we wanted to publish a standard photo.
Then click on the camera icon in the right corner and then go to the "rolls" tab (this is located between the "reportage" and "live" tabs).
We can then record a video in real time by giving the app access to the camera or by selecting photos or clips from our phone's gallery.
In the next step, we move on to editing our roll. At this point, in the toolbar, we have the option to cut individual selected recordings, change their speed, swap them in order or crop them. We can also add another recording or remove one of the previously added ones. There is an option to insert subtitles at a specific place and moment of the recording. We can also diversify the roll by adding a gif or sticker. In the toolbar, we see the option to add an audio track. It is up to us whether we record an audio clip ourselves or choose a sound from the Instagram library. We can adjust the sound by choosing the moment it starts, ends or by controlling the volume. There is also an option to apply and adjust the intensity of filters on our recordings.
Once you’ve finished editing your reel, click the blue arrow in the top left corner. The app takes you to the final step before publishing, where you can create a description or poll that will be visible under your recording , tag people, add a location, or change the name of your original audio. There’s also a handy option to choose up to three topics to help tailor your reel to your audience . Suggested categories include fashion and beauty, animals, transportation, food and drink, sports, travel, business, performing arts, and more. Within each category, you can add even more specific keywords. For example, in the “food and drink” category, you can choose from recipes, desserts, baked goods, cakes, restaurants, coffee, and more.
Instagram recently added a new advanced settings option , where we can, among other things, hide the number of likes on a reel, schedule its publication, add a "sponsored post" label, allow automatic captions to be displayed, or download our reels.
If our social media in Meta services are configured, before publishing we can choose to automatically publish it on Facebook as well.
Once we have completed the steps described regarding how our reel will be displayed to users, we can decide to share it or save a draft version that we can return to later .
