Data protection and privacy: a latent cybersecurity problem

Post by shukla7789 »

With the increasing complexity and number of threats, data protection and privacy are still a latent problem. How can it be solved?
Data has become vital to companies. So much so that it is the basis for the development of any business and, increasingly, organizations have a greater amount of confidential data. Although it is very useful for evolving and growing, it must also be taken into account that it can be a real problem, since this data must be stored well, protected with the greatest possible security and in accordance with current regulations.

Within this context, the role of cybersecurity and the increasingly required capacity for cyber resilience come into play , in order to respond to cyber attacks and guarantee the normal functioning of business operations. The question is, do we really have good protection measures in our system?

With digitalisation becoming more widespread since the line database pandemic in 2020 and the consequent exponential increase in cybercrime, companies are deciding to act accordingly by increasing their cybersecurity budget.

Cybersecurity market revenue is projected to reach US$146.3 billion and grow to US$211.7 billion in the near future, with an annual growth rate of 9.68%.

What are the current problems?
Although advances in cybersecurity have been increasing, the risks and threats have also increased in complexity and frequency. Some professionals in the sector talk about how new technologies , despite their effectiveness, make this protection difficult, which is why providers must be up to date and offer the best solutions in the shortest time possible.

For example, we can refer in this context to cloud computing or the growth of BYOD, among other things. These forms of storage have great benefits, but they must be used effectively with comprehensive and centralized monitoring.

In addition, it can be seen that most of the security equipment used is not capable of measuring the impact on the business and, therefore, cannot be reported on. And of course, we cannot fail to mention the data breach as a fact that is still very present and to which no absolute solution has yet been given.

There are failures and incidents that lead to breaches in which users' information and personal data fall into the hands of unauthorized persons.

Are there solutions to permanently protect data?
Cybersecurity is improving by leaps and bounds. Although there is still much to do, significant improvements have been implemented in the development of new systems for the fight against malware , offering performance that prevents incidents on a daily basis in all types of companies. In any case, little by little new solutions and remedies are being seen for the most common incidents, which points towards an optimistic future.
