A person works most effectively in a certain corridor between "boring" and "scary". It is boring to do a certain set of actions, a routine, day after day, even if you are the best at it. It is scary to take on a task that requires additional competencies, other efforts, going beyond the framework. If your task falls into this corridor, then everything is drive, interesting, you do everything with passion.
