Webtrends and Google Analytics

Post by Bappy11 »

Facebook Analytics Web TrendsThe big players in the field of web analytics are also busy integrating Facebook Analytics for pages and apps within their analytics platforms. One of the most comprehensive tools available is the Facebook Analytics module from Webtrends . Unfortunately, this module, just like the other Webtrends products, is not available to many Dutch brands due to its price. Adobe SiteCatalyst, formerly Omniture, also recently announced a similar expansion . However, with the most commonly used analytics package, Google Analytics, it is still only possible to measure Facebook visitors and interactions to a limited extent. With the Analytics Social Plug-in it is possible to measure the number of Facebook Likes and Shares on your own website. Because Facebook tabs and apps use iFrames with kuwait phone number list HTML and Javascript, it is of course also possible to integrate a Google Analytics code within this . For example, by placing a code in your welcome tab and setting it as a landing page for your Facebook page, you can still collect a lot of information in this way. But here too you are missing an important part of the information. There are a number of providers who play into this.

Socialbakers Analytics and AllFacebook Stats
Two of those Facebook Analytics tools that offer more information, I recently tested: Socialbakers.com and AllFacebook Stats . I did this by placing about 20 large Dutch fan pages in these tools, including those of Hi, Hema, Vodafone and Starbucks Netherlands. Both tools, as far as I can see, use the information from Facebook Insights via the Open Graph API.

But what makes these tools really interesting is that, in addition to the data from your own Facebook page, they can also display the data from your competitors' Facebook pages. So it's very easy to set up a benchmark for the industry in which your brand is active. This way you can compare the performance of your Facebook page(s) with that of your competitors and also learn from the visitors of their Facebook pages. Of course, this also means that this data is available to them. In my follow-up article on Facebook Analytics I will go into more detail about my findings after testing both tools.
