Post by Bappy11 »

Of the number of travellers who use social media during their holiday, more than half actually 'post' something about their holiday fun, 23% also add photos. The frequency of updates via social media is on average 3 times a week during a holiday. 62% of the respondents announce their holiday plans via social media, which according to the police is not wise. It is advised not to share holiday details via social media, because of the risk of home burglary. When asked why social media users do not pay attention to this advice during their holiday, 39 answered: 'I have shielded my profile on social media sites from strangers' , 32% said 'My neighbours keep an eye on things' , another 21% said: 'Someone is staying in my house during my holiday' and only 8% 'think that the risk of burglary is always present'.
