Since 2015, Nice-Matin has been undergoing a profound digital transformation. At the time, facing major economic difficulties, the daily newspaper opted for a 180° turn to establish itself as an innovative media in its own right. The latest project to date. the launch of the MAS last January, the newspaper's place of innovation.
We had the opportunity to speak with Damien Allemand, head 1000 mobile database of the digital department of Nice-Matin and initiator of the MAS, who explained to us the strategy, ambitions and projects of this brand new place of innovation.
4 axes of development
Launched in January 2019, the MAS is managed by a project manager, Marjorie Roubaud-Lubrano, accompanied by two consultants. But all of Nice-Matin's departments are also involved to varying degrees, Damien Allemand tells us, stressing the importance of good internal communication "so that this place is not seen as a competing space and to try to acculturate other employees to this place, so that they take ownership of it, so that it is a place of passage. It is important to have a place that is on people's path when they go to the office, that it is not closed off [...] and then bring in people from outside."
