1. Default backtracking
Why? The unwritten rule of politeness is still: whoever follows, will be followed back. I say, no ! Why? If you are followed by Anita Sjaansmans with the bio 'housewife, mother of 3 rotten teenagers and bakes a cake every day' then you will soon have a stream full of tweets worth a €7.50 note. First check if your new fan has something to add. Check the latest tweets and retweets. Twitterers with the Twitter egg as avatar? Don't even think about it.

2. Digital diarrhea
This is really a typical byproduct of 2011-2012. 'Ah, Tommie just threw up on his new Miffy bib for the first time, while I was looking out of the window at a flower box' or 'Whoop whoop, look at me, won another quote, superhero is my middle name, high time for a cape and a jar of gel' or 'So sad, our cat Minous fell off my new plastic retro kitchen stepladder and (maybe) broke her left leg'.
Oh, and Foursquare ; unless you're checking into The White House and shaking hands with President Obama, don't! Highly annoying . The same goes for Gowalla, Paper.li, Summify, Buffer, Soundcloud, Facebook, Capica, Pinterest and Instagram (in most cases). And don't let people know what you think of DWDD every 5 minutes. Don't brag, don't talk nonsense and don't talk shit. Try to talk about something. Especially not too much . One of the main reasons to unfollow someone is an excess of tweets. Never more than 4, maximum 5 per day. Also make sure there is a reasonable amount of time between your tweets.
3. Automatic direct messages
'Thanks for following, check out our amazing website full of shit'.
This phenomenon has remained standing proudly despite all the warnings and threats to stop it. Direct messages are meant to send someone a personal private message . Moreover, direct messages (apart from automatic direct messages) are used very little. A nice, empty stream that is actually more in the way than it is functional. That is why the only thing you achieve with an automatic direct message is a lot of annoyance and maybe even an instant unfollow. Therefore:

4. Shouting how awesome you are
Twitter is not a cheap billboard. It is not meant to tell you every day what you can do, have made and why you are such a great fan. Sure, you can say something every now and then about a new product you launched or a customer you helped. But say it once. Don't keep shouting it and don't come up with something 'new' every day.
You better show that you are serious about what you can do. That you know a lot and use that knowledge to help others. That you have a sharp eye for the developments in your world and know how to deal with them. Spread your knowledge, not your ego .
5. Toooo many mentions
Many streams are polluted with personal conversations that are of no interest to anyone lebanon telegram data except the two people having the conversation:
A @name, but put @name somewhere further in your tweet, then all your followers will see that tweet. Do you want that? Do they want that? No, then your stream will be full of digital diarrhea again. An important reason for other Twitter users not to follow you or follow you back. So keep conversations that are of no use to anyone to yourself, start your tweet with @name .
