Google Ads: Setting goals to acquire new customers

Post by Dimaeiya333 »

This article will walk you through a step-by-step process for successfully setting up a new customer acquisition goal in Google Ads for new and existing campaigns.
Google recently introduced its newest goal type for PPC advertisers : Customer Acquisition Goals. The Customer Acquisition Goal effectively finds new customers across different types of Google Ads campaigns based on marketing goals. In a recent tutorial video, Google explained how the new Customer Acquisition Goal works.

How the customer acquisition goal works
New customers are identified through three data sources:

Customer lists (first-party data)
Google Brands
Auto-detection signals
Google supports two different customer acquisition modes:

New Customer Value mode. The offer for new customers sweden mobile database is higher than for existing customers. This option supports retail and online sales goals.
New Customer Only mode. Offer to new customers only. Retail sales, online sales, and lead gen goals are supported with this option.
The customer acquisition goal can be set for new and existing campaigns.

Setting a goal for new Performance Max campaigns
Selecting a customer acquisition goal for a new Performance Max campaign occurs during campaign creation.

First, select Performance Max as the campaign type and name the campaign.

The second step is to set up a menu that contains the new acquisition goal type.

If you are using the "New Customer Value" mode
After checking the customer acquisition box above, the advertiser will be prompted to select from existing audience segments.

After selecting your audience, you need to assign a value to customer acquisition. The value is assigned to new customer conversions, which helps Smart Bidding optimize for new customers. For optimal results, Google recommends setting the value to the expected future organic revenue of the new customer.

After setting the value, continue setting up your Performance Max campaign as usual.
