facebook-travel-study-travel-behaviorAfter the gambling data japan social network giant Facebook revealed official daily user numbers for Germany for the first time a few weeks ago, Facebook has now investigated its influence on the travel behavior of its own users and published it in an official study.
The study is entitled “Facebook Travel: Near and Now” and is 28 pages long. Users from Germany, England, Finland, Sweden and Norway were surveyed to investigate travel behavior. And indeed, the social network plays a significant role in travel and tourism.
42% of shared content is related to travel, making it the biggest topic on Facebook.
84% confirm that the holidays of friends and family inspire them
64% say that without Facebook they would not know that their friends are on vacation
83% say they like the content on this topic, even if they are not currently thinking about booking a trip
83% confirm that they feel safe when friends or family recommend the holiday
97% of users who go online while on vacation use Facebook
