In the framework of World Bread Day, which took place on October 16, we wanted to talk to the creators of Pan Mostacho and learn everything about their venture, especially how they managed to grow and stand out in such a competitive market.
Could you have imagined a couple of years ago that you could buy fresh bread online? That's how visionary entrepreneurs Álvaro Saavedra and Pierre Sauré were, whose business was created in 2016 based on the concept of adding value to a food that is basic for all Chileans.
Both founders come from a theatre background, which has allowed them to explore the craft of the arts and be extremely creative. They have a great entrepreneurial spirit that helps them solve problems on the fly and get inspired by offering a unique experience to their clients.
The freshness of their products can be seen in the photographs they publish on their social networks or in their online store www.panmostacho.cl . Today they have a wide variety of breads such as rye, bagel, pretzel, beetroot, some with pure flours, whole wheat, mixed, flavored, among others.

We wanted to know the inspiration job seekers database their business and how they managed to turn their shop into a success. In our conversation with Pierre and Álvaro they told us that through the whole process of connecting with the art profession, they came up with the idea of opening a bakery. They were inspired by what they do in other countries like Spain, where there are shops very similar to what they created, but without the character and personality of Pan Mostacho.
Furthermore, as we mentioned before, it is a bread that is sold online, a tremendous challenge and innovation in these times where the digitalization of businesses is essential to achieve a differentiating factor from the competition. In light of this achievement, the entrepreneurs told us the following:
It was a tremendous challenge, our credibility worked in our favor and that helped more people to buy through this channel. At first, it was very strange to sell through our online store, since our concept was totally the opposite... to have the physical experience with our bread, but it has turned out to be incredible, against all expectations.

On the other hand, they have the challenge of getting their fresh product to the homes of all their customers, but this obstacle did not stop Pierre and Álvaro from stopping, but rather they offered different purchasing options, such as scheduling the order, picking it up in store or ordering immediately and depending on the stock that exists at the time.
Today's consumer has adapted to new ways of acquiring products or services. What was once unexpected, such as buying fresh bread online, is now a fact. In addition, another trend that is very marked post-pandemic is to consume local products, which has been an advantage for various businesses such as Pan Mostacho. You can learn more about these changes in our Ebook New post-pandemic consumer trends .
Finally, in this process of delivering a complete service, they had their premises digitalized and automated from the day they started. We have accompanied our clients with sales software from the first day they started, as the entrepreneurs commented:
Systematizing processes and collecting data is a very important action for your company. You need support and help to obtain all the information.
Bsale has been super useful. In addition to having a sales history, it has allowed us to better plan and keep all the warehouses organized. It made us systematize many processes and helped us grow… without Bsale it would have been impossible.
