Snapchat launches Snapchat+ and a web app

Photo-messaging app Snapchat has launched a subscription model for its platform , Snapchat+, which it says will allow it to offer priority support and deliver new features to the most passionate members of its community.

Snapchat+ is a collection of exclusive, experimental, pre-launch features available to subscribers for $3.99 per month. The initial launch has been limited to Snapchat users in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Since the launch of Snapchat+, the platform has also launched a subscriber-only web app, allowing users to stay connected via the Snapchat camera while on their computers.

Snapchat for the web is accessible via Chrome at web.snapchat.com and includes messaging features like Chat Reactions and Chat Reply, with Lenses coming soon to the web app.

'Random' act of kindness backfires on TikTok
TikTok creator Harrison Pawluk has found himself in a media storm after a woman he gifted flowers to in a viral TikTok video went on local radio to complain about being used as “clickbait.”

Pawluk's video, which she posted on TikTok with the caption "I hope this made your day," has so far racked up more than 60 million views. But the woman says that far from being thrilled with the gift, Pawluk interrupted her quiet moment, filmed her without her consent and lied about it.

“It’s the condescending assumption that women, especially older women, will be delighted by a stranger giving them flowers,” the woman told Melbourne’s ABC radio . “At first I thought it was a joke, but then I felt australia accountant email database dehumanised after reading the article [in which Pulwark claimed the woman was so grateful for the gift she was brought to tears].”

Pawluk, who has 3 million followers on TikTok, has apologized to the woman through his representative but has not removed the video.
