Realized invention
I think that through various collaborations a powerful social network platform will emerge within which many things will be possible, for which we currently still have to go to separate sites. An example is the link that allows you to view the LinkedIn profile of a Twitterer directly via Twitter. Certainly through the increasing use of mobile internet, apps will be developed that will merge the best of many worlds into one 'social' whole. Whether that platform will ultimately be called Twitter, I dare not say, but that there will be one platform for it is crystal clear. The central issue will continue to be that the knowledge we have will be used much more effectively. Ultimately, everyone will benefit from that. The continuously developing tablets will of course only support this trend.

Social media in five years
I think that it will be even more than now, completely integrated and a fixed part of people's daily lives. Now you see that many people are not yet present on social media, or that they use it sporadically. I expect that this will have changed considerably in five years; almost everyone will have a smartphone (these will become increasingly cheaper) and will therefore be constantly online, also on social media. You can see that telecom companies are already struggling with the influence of messages via Facebook or Twitter, for example. What will that be like in five years? New revenue models will have to be developed that please both the provider and the customer. And that will be a difficult one, I think...

In addition, I expect that, besides the 'giants' such as Facebook and panama phone number list Twitter, many more niche network sites will be established. So there will be something for everyone; whether you want to be active on a popular world network, or on a more specific and perhaps local network site.

Finally, companies will absolutely no longer be able to ignore it. Social media will become an integral part of the marketing mix, will be integrated into their daily work and companies will have to keep an eye on social media and listen to their customers more than ever before. Conversations about brands and companies no longer only take place between four walls; opinions are open and exposed on the internet. Companies can no longer ignore this. For them, a time of good listening and targeted action is dawning. But anyway, I think that is also an agenda item for today - and certainly in five years' time.

Realized invention
I believe strongly in 3D printing. I was recently a guest at a media inspiration afternoon and listened breathlessly to the story of a company that specializes in this. The possibilities are endless and it could change (part of) the industry. In my estimation, 3D printing will not be available to everyone in five years (these kinds of things often take much longer), but it will certainly make a big difference for some companies. On a personal level, I think that open source networks will literally open up the design world. People will be able to print existing products or parts themselves via open source design files, with many options of course. In any case, I am eagerly looking forward to it.
