I only use Facebook privately

Post by Bappy11 »

Almost all conference attendees only use Facebook privately. But they are on Facebook. “And that is why it is such a great channel for companies, because your entire target group is here,” says Peter Evers in his presentation 'Facebook as an advertising channel'. According to Peter, the biggest advantage of Facebook is that companies can create their own fan club here. And with fans you can communicate quickly, directly and relatively cheaply without needing media agencies, printers, airtime and so on. Moreover, each fan represents a lot of other potential fans. Because once your fan allows you on his newsfeed, all of your fan's friends will see your message too.

The nice thing about Facebook is that you are forced as a company to be really hungary phone number list relevant and have to offer your target group something. They decide for themselves whether they become a fan of you or not. And this is where a rock-solid marketing strategy comes into play, because how do you ensure that your target group will 'like' you? This is usually preceded by an online campaign on Facebook. And that is a relatively new phenomenon: campaigning to gather fans.

The good news is that fans rarely leave. So you are creating an ever-growing group of brand ambassadors that you can use to do promotions, introduce products, offer customer service and gauge opinions. Peter Evers has so much faith in Facebook that he dares to 'build a company on it'. The name of the company may not be mentioned here yet, but keep an eye on your social media channels this month.
