Characteristics of Royal Red maples

Characteristics of the Norway maple Drummondii
This is a deciduous tree. Norway maples, the crown diameter of which reaches 15 m with a height of 20 m, have an oval dense crown with palmate leaves of 2 colors. Inside they are green, framed with a white shade at the edge. When blooming, they acquire a pink color. By autumn they acquire yellow. The entire vegetation season they change the scenery, striking the imagination with unexpected transformations of tones. Young branches have a yellow-green light shade.

The maple flowers are yellow-green, round and flat. The grafted form of maple has 2 varieties:

An extremely rare yellow-edged one that burns out if grown alone.
Regular silver-edged.
To prevent brown edges from appearing on the leaves during prolonged rains, Drummondi should be planted together with other trees. It can preserve the purity of the color of the leaves only when covered by the "caring" crown of other trees.

The Drummondii variety of Norway maple is very demanding of soils. It grows comfortably in areas that are fertile and moderately moist. If leaves without a characteristic border appear in the crown, they are removed to the very base so as not to blur the characteristics of the variety. Maple pruning is carried out only when all the leaves have blossomed, otherwise the tree will lose a lot of sap and will have difficulty recovering. At this time, wounds heal easily. By mid-September, the foliage falls.

The plant is widely used in landscape design: in hedges, in group and single plantings. The decorative value of the tree includes: variegated foliage and a lush, unusual crown.

This variety (Acer platanoides) of the Latin jordan mobile database has a pronounced decorative appearance. It is able to play the role of an accent in landscape design in any area with unusual shapes and colors of the trunk, crown, leaves and fruits:

The Norway maple, which is 12 meters high, is a tree with a distinct, slender trunk and a broad pyramidal crown.
The color of the bark is dark gray, with small cracks.
The maple has large, carved leaves, divided into 5-7 lobes. Young leaves are bright red, which then turns into a shiny burgundy color. By autumn, it becomes lighter.
The plant blooms in May (together with the appearance of leaves) with inflorescences of small yellow flowers.
The maple fruit resembles a yellow-brown samara.
Norway maples of the Royal Red variety are very demanding of soil. They grow well on fertile, slightly acidic, moderately moist soils. They do not like drought and stagnant moisture. This is a light-loving variety and can tolerate only slight shading. Maple is propagated by grafting. The tree is planted in a place protected from the wind, well-lit.

The main enemy of the maple is powdery mildew, which affects the crown. This variety of the plant is adapted to urban conditions, very popular, thanks to its crown. It is used in landscape design of gardens, parks, streets of institutions and organizations, household and summer cottages.
