The French are increasingly losing interest gambling data romania in current affairs. According to the 33rd Kantar/Sofres barometer conducted for La Croix , 41% of respondents say that their interest in current affairs is "fairly low or very low", the worst rate ever recorded since 1987. Crisis of confidence, crisis of information but also crisis of representation. Despite the initiatives taken in 2019, the French believe that the media are still failing to reflect their concerns. A new development is that while trust in traditional media is rising slightly, the internet has reached the lowest level in terms of credibility.
A “structural” crisis of information
In France, interest in current affairs is at its lowest level after a slight rebound observed last year. A little less than 6 out of 10 French people are interested in current affairs. Saturation effect in the face of infobesity and a certain treatment of current affairs that creates distance. A trend that has been observable for five years now but is now clearly assumed. Never before have so many people surveyed assumed the fact of being "fairly" weakly (28% + 4) or "very" weakly interested in current affairs. (13% +4).
Young people (50%), women (53%), the less qualified (54%), people who are politically engaged (48%), but also workers (53%) or shopkeepers and craftsmen (53%) isolate themselves the most from information.
