Net neutrality in the Netherlands a political game

Closer to home, the VVD media spokesperson, Afke Schaart, dared to hold the PvdA responsible for the upcoming price increases for mobile internet. The liberal coalition partner recently opposed the net neutrality proposal and believes that GroenLinks, D66, PVV and PvdA are primarily responsible for the price increases announced by KPN, Vodafone and T-Mobile as of 1 September. Providers wanted to throttle, differentiate or even block certain mobile internet services because they were not making enough profit. For example, KPN wanted to charge customers extra for certain services that cost extra bandwidth via mobile internet, such as YouTube and Skype. Through more expensive contracts, the providers are still circumventing net neutrality and still charging more money. The VVD holds the PvdA responsible for this .
It is of course an outrage that a party that carries 'freedom' in its name, did not fight for ivory coast phone number list that freedom of the net, but wanted to stop the law that wanted to regulate this better. Now the VVD is shifting its own responsibility to parties that were prepared to fight for that freedom. It would be a good thing for politics to open up that freedom of the (mobile) net again for everyone with affordable rates as soon as possible. So that social media can be used by everyone again; preferably as socially as possible, but yes, even the antisocial fellow human being uses the modern communication that freedom simply offers us. And that is a great acquired good. Here, with us, in England and hopefully soon in the entire Middle East and the rest of the closed world, where freedom of expression is still restricted by scary rulers.
