X-ray of entrepreneurship in Paraná

Entrepreneurship in Paraná has grown. In the first half of this year, 102,760 companies were opened, according to data from Boa Vista. But why do people from Paraná decide to become entrepreneurs?

In July, we began a survey to answer this question. With it, we outlined the profile of entrepreneurs from Paraná , a true x-ray that, in addition to pointing out the pains and pleasures of entrepreneurial life , also revealed the path taken by those on the front lines.



Entrepreneurship in Paraná
Opening your own business is relatively easy. The lawyer database part is maintaining it .

88% of the companies surveyed opened their doors in less than a year, but 22% have not yet reached the break-even point . The main challenges are:



Outperform the competition (38.3%);
Create new products and services (25.8%);
Develop marketing campaigns (25.8%);
Dealing with day-to-day bureaucracy (25.8%);
Recruit and hire employees (25.6%).


Even with difficulties, 45% have never sought help from entities such as ACP and Sebrae to undertake. However, they do not enter the field alone: ​​59% have partners , most of whom are family members (48%). There are also those who rely on business partners (49%) who help to promote products and services and expand networking. In the initial stages, only 8% of the companies surveyed turned to investors . 16.4% took out loans of up to R$500,000.00.



While 38% seek greater autonomy and freedom through entrepreneurship , 28.3% found an opportunity to undertake in the market. 25% do so out of necessity.



Prospects for the future
Regarding revenue in 2019, 33% expect to grow at least 5% to 10% compared to the previous year. More than half operate in the B2C model , that is, they sell their products and services directly to the end consumer.



Entrepreneurs in Paraná want to become a reference , guarantee their own income and bring positive impacts to society . To do this, they work as a team, driven by a sense of purpose.



Our survey received over 400 responses. 40.3% of participants are micro-enterprises and 52% work as service providers .
